Thanx for the reply.
If there ARE/WERE a set of 50-Hz gears, I would have
no doubt that all you needed to do to use it on 50-Hz
would be the R/R the gears.
Back in the '70's the company I worked for had produced
a disk drive (5MB fixed and 5MB removable - WOW!) that
had a power supply in it that if you went down to 59.9Hz
or over 60.1Hz it would trip the breaker!
I recall the technology that caused it to react like that
also caused it to be much less expensive than a "real power supply".
The reason that I ran into the problem was because it was going
"somewhere" where the power wasn't stable - so they made a mock-up,
fed it junky electricity, and found out what would happen.
