Right on Doug!

you have managed to solve the riddle of the 'match' to the classic old
oil it seems!

seems like a good project for Don's group to buy the 5 gallon pail ?

A nice Teletype repairman that fixed us up with zillions of keyboard
and printer springs and tools and the magic gold oil can told me about
adding STP to the stock oil.

Would anyone comment on the 'science' behind why and if there is any
detriment to the STP?
<aside from wanting to stick racing decals on your 28>

The oil question was appearing so much I always thought it might be good to
add the solve to the signmature block for the list

Climbing around on the web, I have found the specs for KS7470 oil,
and I have found the specs for a number of other oils with which
to compare it.

The results of my exploration are here

In conclusion, Starrett 1620 Tool and Instrument oil is almost
certainly the exact same thing. $6.94 per 4oz. bottle

Several other highly refined white mineral oils are every close
matches. Lubriplate FMO-AW 200, for example, is available for
about $139 for 5 gallons or $1,466.38 for a 55 gallon drum.
bulk discounts are nice, but I don't need that much.
