[GreenKeys] Teletype Traffic

4005 was used as the Navy's 100 speed encrypted
fleet broadcast. Copied it while at sea in the sixties and
then had the pleasure of tuning the FRT-40 transmitter
that was used to broadcast it while at NSS. I also noticed
that it was gone for awhile and came back.

That FSK signal has been there for 45 years that I know of. Kind of odd that it's still there. Earlier this year it was gone but it came back. Military still using slow speed data signals?
For a while it was splattering below 4.000.
Separately, there is a very wide noise signal that covers from about 3.885 to 4.020. It is a series of noise bursts that repeats about once a second. The very good noise blanker in my Drake R-4C lessens but does not remove it. I know it is not local as I hear it in recordings of the Liberty Net on 3.995 but it is audible here (NE Ohio) at all times of day.
Does anyone know more about either of these?

Dave,
Getting the station here in Indiana at 10 over S9 but unable to decode with anything I have here.
More than likely an encrypted signal from uncle sugar.

Does anyone know who is transmitting for 4.004 Mhz?
Getting a real strong signal(QRK-5) for the last several days here in Greenville (Mauldin),
SC at night and all night (quiet during the day).
Appears to be 60 wpm TTY. I have no teletype copy capability so thought
maybe someone in the group would know. Perhaps a DDH station?
