I believe your answer is in text from the UPI stylebook I sent, "A flash
takes 10 bells, which follow it." I read it as the bells follow the Flash,
Urgent, etc. slug, as in your first example.
Since I wasn't here yet when JFK was assassinated and hadn't yet started
school when the UPI stylebook was printed, are there any former AP/UPI
folks on this list who can comment?
