Ahhh - the ol' "Marshmallow Management": As soon as there is any
kind of altercation, they will say and do anything to get out of it.

I worked for a company like that - and knew they would go out of
business with that philosophy. In one meeting, when the ship was
sinking, they kept repeating the mantra "the customer is number 1".
When I couldn't take it any more I stood up and said: "you know
WHAT THE PROBLEM IS? - the COMPANY should be our number one
priority - and NOT the customer. Yeah, we need customers - PAYING
CUSTOMERS! Sure we've got happy customers: Why? - because you guys
are giving the store away! Free Upgrades, Free Repairs, Free service
calls outside of coverage." We're going broke - and fast! - but
we've got the happiest customers around. GREAT!
