Thanks for the links. bitsavers had a good collection of manuals.

the machine turned out to be a wide carriage model SPD with Bull coding. 
it is in decent shape. ony one key has some wear: the read tape key. :-) 
reading a tape is fine, punching goes wrong after the first key. but 
just now did i learn about a special keypress to do after setting up 
punching, so I'l try that first befor taking it apart.

It is only missing its papertape holder on the back (if a 
papertape/edgecard model ever had one) But boy what a heavy beast!

I was quite amazed to find out it was build not far from my home in 
Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

Oh and btw. six bit versions were used for newspaper linotype machines. 
we have a siemens T106 in six-bit in our collection. it has all kinds of 
markup keys not used in any other system.
