Very good... yea the mech is cool and very inspiring to young
minds... want to clear case one of ours too! The 15 is probably the
most interesting!?

ok if you are going to pattern one pattern a few..

Yes, there is a nice black crinkle bat-cover, which will be in place for
demos to the kids. The cover was off for the initial demo to Kim, since
watching the M15 mechanism is so very cool.

The cover-off problem is not the snagging a finger issue as much as the
high voltage on the terminal strip.

I have considered making a plastic cover for an M15, and John Nagle's
stuff is inspiring, but I don't want to try working with a brass skeleton. I
am thinking of a wood skeleton though, with plastic sheets retained in
routed grooves. A nice cherry, or mahogany perhaps, finished with a dozen coats
of highly-polished tung oil...

gotta love it! This is COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to see people putting their tty skills to use for the good of
mankind!

one comment though with the open mech just a little afraid some kid
will want to feel the mechanism.... and snag goes the finger.....

A clear Lucite housing in order perhaps?!

I have to worry about stuff like this at the SMECC museums well as
any of our offsite displays as well...

Hey folks:

Commissioner Gordon has authorized a limited amount of secret project
information to be leaked to the press.

News flash: Bat-Tronics Industries, a division of _baudot.net_
(http://baudot.net/) , has just delivered a Teletype Model 15 to the batcave. The
Bat-Teletype will enhance batcave communications in the fight against evil.

Bruce Wayne, a prominent Phoenix businessman, has for years been providing
special days for terminally-ill children by inviting them to take a ride
in his batmobile with a parent at the wheel. More recently, he has been
exhaustively re-creating the batcave at an industrial park in Phoenix. Kids
now enter into Mr. Wayne's study, lift open the Shakespeare head, press the
big button, and the bookcase slides open. Entering through the bookcase
and sliding down the pole they arrive at the batcave, which has more vintage
electronics than I do (and I have a lot). Next to all the vital batcave
equipment, the batmobile sits on a rotating platform. Adjacent to the cave
is Mr. Wayne's car collection. As I understand it, over a hundred kids have
been through the bat-experience. Sadly, not all of the children are
still with us, but their spirits fill the cavernous batcave. The full story

The attached pics:
- a sneak-peek at the batmobile (just a peek)

- Mr. Wayne's assistant Kim prints out the first official batcave
communique
- Gil's mom Minnie assists with the delivery

Stay tuned for the next episode...
