paper advance? if it's friction feed, you shoud chekc the rubber part on 
the back of the platen, near the selector. if you think "what rubber

on mine, A 3320 machine, the D-sub 15 goes to the four buttons on the 
sideplate and seems to be a remote switches cable for the external computer
