When you refer to the connector as a Jones plug do you mean the more
recent two row type with flat pins at about 10 mm row spacing or the
older type often called a Painton plug that had different numbers of
rows depending on the size. I think three rows was most common.
If it is the more modern type it may have been a standard GPO pin out in
which case information on the 444 may be useful. The 444 has a 50 pin D
type internally but used a two row 'modern' flat pin plug for connection
to GPO equipment.
The 7B is a very simple machine that would not need a 33 way connector.
My oldest 7B has a 9 pin plug on it with pins about the same size as the
old 5 amp plugs used for live and neutral. Having just 9 pins is a
little restrictive but only by about two changeover circuits.
