Yes, thanks to the links people have provided I have been able to find some
of these connectors on Ebay here in the UK, so I don't have to ship them
from the US. They are indeed common once you know what to look for.

After seeing a pix of th connector, it is similar to many connectors on the
instruments where I worked. The mating connector usually had screws on it
that held the wires to the removable plug.
This general type of connector is very common in industry.

My apologies on the assumption. The drawing of the back panel in
the manual was a bit vague,
It doesn't help that the manufacturer lists screw terminals as the
connections in their specification page.

Which explains why they refer to it as a "5-position screw terminal."
These are screw type terminal as the connection to a plug that mates
with the chassis connector.
