I have a similar background.  Ever since retirement in May I hae been on an insane quest to collect every TU I used to drool about but never could afford bsck then.   I now have Hal ST-6000, ST-8000 (x2), ST-8000a, Dovetron MCR-1000 (x2), fredericks 1280,  and even a nice homebrew Msinline TTL tube TU from an estate.  Needless to say I need to thin the herd.
