[GreenKeys] Intro -- new to the list but not to RTTY

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures left over from those days. All I had got destroyed in a basement flood around 20 years ago.

The receive T/U's were all Boehme model 5C's and we were using O-39 FSK oscillators for the transmit side on the BC-610's. Big hulking black boxes for sure. I did a google search on the Boehme's and so far unable to come up with any pix either.

I do remember that they had a built in 2" scope and you tuned the receiver to the MARK frequency which gave the horizontal ellipse on the scope and then as the station started sending RY's, you tuned this huge variable inductor to the space frequency while watching the vertical ellipse on the scope. Once you had the "cross" you were tuned. The box had a built in loop supply capable of driving up to three 60 ma machines or 6 20 ma machines.

Before I left there in 1966, we had scrounged a whole bunch of old Navy CV-89 receiving converters -- still rack mounted but a heck of a lot lighter. Those did require an external loop supply if I remember correctly.

BTW. Joe, N5LXW is a close friend and lives not too far from me. We're always swapping stuff back & forth.
