[GreenKeys] Antiseize compound

Most automotive supply places have blister pack tubes of
anti-sieze compounds, mostly for coating the threads of
spark plugs when used in aluminum heads.
Don’t know if there is an issue with the automotive version’s
chemistry which would make it taboo in a TTY, but it isn’t that
expensive and readily available.

ASCII and ye shall receive
Not locktite! I think the anti-sieze is to keep the screw from seizing due to electrolysis with the two metals involved. Magnesium will will be the sacrificial anode in the galvanic process.
My 2.45 cents worth

Hello greenkeyers.
I have been stripping a Klein tt-98 for a while now, and now have to stripped to the frame. Yea!
Next is cleaning and assembling.
Section 2-29 of the manual has a note: "Steel screws should be coated with Compound Antiseize before they
are inserted into magnesium or aluminum castings."
I have been noticing a grey-greasy substance in the threads. I'm sensing its to keep the threads from bonding to castings.
Is there an over-the-counter substance you guys use that I can buy somewhere. Will lock-tight do the same thing? This seems to be a greasy graphite type substance, and works to prevent threads 'locking tight."
Thanks,
Jonathan
