The biggest problem with those auctions is that they do not ship items. You
either have to pick up your lot in person or authorize a company to do it for
you and then pack and ship to you. With a 28 that would be freight and could
end up being quite expensive.
For smaller items, like a few pieces of test gear I had won, it would cost
anywhere from free (if the pickup company made routine trips there) to over $100
to get the item, then $25 to $75 for packing, and then the marked up shipping
cost. Packing ranged from excellent to outright horrendous. If an item is
damaged, either while at Government Liquidation, or swapped out with another of
worse condition, or gets damaged anywhere in the packing and shipping process,
you have absolutely zero recourse. If you understand and can deal with that, go
for it.
