John,
The TT-98-like Kleinschmidt printer with the big connector is probably a
TT-117 (or -118, -119, -120 -there were a lot of versions). Together
with the tape unit (TT-178, -179, etc) it makes up the AN/FGC-25 (or
similar version), which was the US Army & Air Force version of the M28
ASR. It was used in all the major communications centers in the 1950s-1980s.
Here is SAC HQ comm center c1960:
I have been looking for a AN/FGC-25 for the AWA Museum for many years.
We just got in a TT-179 tape unit this past week, so I am now looking
for the companion printer, but shipping to the east coast would probably
be prohibitive. Let me know what version you have. Do you have the table?
Thanks,
Duncan Brown, K2OEQ
