   That doesn't look bad at all. I'd suggest a good cleaning.

   That grey wire added as an afterthought is probably
wired directly to the selector magnet.  Measure the
resistance across it at the far end. It will probably
be 55 ohms.  If you apply a 9V battery to those
wires briefly, the selector magnet should click.

The right ribbon spool mechanism looks slightly
bent.  Notice the L-shaped bar supporting the
right ribbon spool is bent just above where it
bolts to the carriage. That's supposed to be
straight.  Also, note that the rightmost typebar
lever is out of its slot, and is one slot to
the left of where it should be, on top of another
typebar lever.  Check over everything at the
right edge of the carriage.  This machine has
suffered an impact in that area.  It looks fixable.

    Most of that wiring in the base isn't doing
anything, since you don't have a keyboard.
