Yes - the TIS (no "1") is a modular four to sixteen channel
"on-off" key to tone system - i.e. multiplex.

The TIS-2 is designed to put a single fixed 850cps shift
AFSK TTY signal on one sideband- and a CW signal on the
other sideband (i.e. two independent data channels).

And to confuse matters even more - there are two distinct
TIS-3s - the TIS-3 TTF/TST - and the TIS-3/TH and TIS-3A/TH
(the "A" is a minor variant of the "non-A").

The TIS-3 TTF/TST is nearly identical to the TIS-2 except
the offsets are for standard 1Kc channel (RF) tuning (i.e.
center and shift frequencies are fixed).

The TIS-3/TH (and A) are a single data channel source -
however - they can handle analog signals (FAX) as well as
on-off keyed (CW or TTY) signals. There are three "standard"
center frequencies with "dial-in" shift from 12 - 1000cps.
In analog mode (FAX) - the carrier can be shifted up to
1200cps - on a 0-20V input swing.

Probably more than you wanted to know [evil grin!]

best!
