That seems kinda funny to me. Personally, I use the Blue and White 3-
n-1 SAE 20.

When Don says not to use 3-in-1 oil I assume he is talking about
the kind in the red-white-black can. It is indeed too light for
Teletype use. However the 3-in-1 brand also has a 20 wt oil in
a blue and white can and that seems to be quite usable.

YES Jim...
I agree, the problem is that the blue and white can is not as well
distributed as the red-white-black can.
Teletype specs specified 10 weight oil if the machine was running in a
very cold climate. They even
suggested adding kerosine if the temperatures dropped significantly.
I believe these recommendations
were for signal corps machines used in military tactical applications
perhaps in Alaska or Greenland.
