Hey Jim;
Thanx for the reply.
Just to keep it simple, the 28-KSR is my 60 WPM machine and works.
the 28-RO is my 100 WPM weather machine and it has the problem.

No - but I can put it onto the base with the keyboard.

I put the 28-KSR machine back in the cabinet and did some
testing. The "S" (lowest) code bar is not moving on the 28-RO.
When I cycle the machine by hand and pull the "S" bar out, it does
go into FIGS. It seems to be a bit confused when I do that - like it
takes a couple of revolutions before it hits the correct spot on the
type box, but it could be that I am doing something illegal
(to the machine) since it normally would receive a FIGS and THEN a
character to print. Also, strangely enough, the 100 WPM machine goes
thru a complete cycle in just a couple turns of the motor whereas the
60 WPM takes a lot more turns. Yes, I realize that one is close to
twice as fast at the other but I don't think the amount of turns for
a complete cycle is 1/2 as much with the 100 WPM machine.
BTW - on the 100 WPM RO-base machine the "O" bar is sticking out. It
is not on the 28-KSR. Do you know what that does?

Is taking it off going to mess-up any of the settings?
