    That makes sense.  The stuff I used was only about 1/8";
yours is heavier, and closer to the original.  But, of course,
I built my own brass and glass case, and it's more open than
the stock case so that people can see the works.

    The thin stuff won't have as much effect on low frequencies,
but the most annoying teletype noises are impacts.  Low
frequencies are more likely to get out through the base, which
is why the standard table has big rubber Lord mounts and the
Model 15 case is isolated from the print mechanism.
