[GreenKeys] model 28 goodies

Darryl:

My new rule of thumb is when in doubt, take it all! You just never know what
gems you will find and even if you don't need some of the stuff you get,
there is always someone who will need it or trade for it eventually. All of
this assumes that you have a place to store all this stuff high and dry. In
my case I keep all the extra parts and machines awaiting restoration in my
airplane hangar, so space it not a problem. I had a opportunity a while back
to pickup several machines (model 32 & 33's) and a truck load of parts and
other items. Even though I drove away with what I wanted, I left behind many
items that I later found out to be hard to find parts. One of the great
things about this group is all the giving and trading between members in
need of not only those hard to find items, but the knowledge base as well.
Now what to look out for I guess depends on how much work you are willing to
invest in getting a particular machine up and running. Mice seem to be one
the worst problems. The nest and dirt can always be cleaned out, but mouse
pee can do and enormous amount of damage. Extreme rust is a close second.
That's my 2¢ worth.

Cheers,
