Tony:

I had to laugh when I read the end of your note. My wife is going to kill me
next Wednesday when I bring home a working Model 19 from a guy in Ohio. The
machine is complete and the tape reader and perforator come with it. Price
$0.00! Thank God my kids really like the Teletypes. My daughter uses the
Model 32 with Heavy Metal to print out the Associated Press "Today In
History" every evening. My son likes the Model 28 and reads the news from
ITTY on the weekends (Thanks again George for providing this service) and he
is fascinated by all the moving parts. Like father like son. I wonder when
it will be safe to bring home the PDP-11 system I have in storage at my
office and hookup it up to the Model 33? I might need a good divorce lawyer
when that day arrives! I can see it now, she will get the house, cars and
any money I have and I will find myself sitting in the driveway with my
suitcase surrounded by a bunch of Teletype machines.

Cheers,

Hey Steve;

Well, yesterday a guy listed a 28-KSR for $1,000.oo.

They probably don't know what the machines are really worth and
are just picking a number out of the air.

Since we are (probably) the only one's that would be interested
in such an item, we pretty much control the supply-and-demand.

If someone is interested in it, they might consider letting the
guy know that "if it doesn't sell, I'll take it off your hands
for $100.oo".

Like at a ham radio flea market, when it comes to closing time,
some "expensive" items can be got for cheap because the seller
either doesn't want to lug it back home - or he is under orders
that in "no-way-shape-or-form" are you to come back with that
monstrosity!!!

:-)
