I don't normally make "me too" type postings but you're
bringing up a bad topic.
I just about gave up on ever finding any parts for my toll
signalling equipment. Fortunately, I really don't need
anything new but I often see the components (and left over
"scrap") from equipment that I recognize on ePay and am
saddened to see another example of a rare technology get cut
up. (And a lot of it has minimial use to audiophiles -
People figure that the Western Electric name will let them
charge whatever they want and there are buyers who don't
disappoint them.)
And that doesn't include the test equipment that gets
butchered. I saw a 1U amplifier-rectifier go up for big
bucks. It was listed as a *****> Western Electric Audio
Amplifier <****** I guess if the person can't use the DC
output to drive his projection dB meter, he can always cut
it up for the coils.
Grrrrrrrr!
