I just got mail back from the seller - he confirms the Navy ID tag on
the front says TT-176/UG and that the selector magnets, etc. look like
all the other regular TTY gear he's seen (i.e. non-Tempest, 60 ma
loop). It does not have a gearshift and is likely the original 60wpm
7.42 unit code variety.
My thirst for knowledge is slaked for now.....
