Uh oh!  I just explained it to Chris privately that L is the initial
prefix letter for all Model 28 stuff.  LK for a keyboard, LP for a
printer, LAC for the apparatus cabinet, and so on.  Model 35 also uses
L as a prefix letter since it is based on Model 28 - they just added
8 in front of the number to indicate 8-level.  Thus LP801 would be a
Model 35 printer.

F for Model 14, B for Model 15, U for 32/33 and others I don't know off
the top of my head.

The numbered models are a Bell System thing, althought Teletype used
those numbers in advertising.  If you see a 28A keyboard that is a
Bell System unit - non-Bell would be LK and a number.
