[GreenKeys] 28ASR question

Hi Guys,
A while ago I cobbled together a 28ASR from a couple of parts machines.
Originally it was a 'fractions' machine but was able to find a standard comms
typebox for it. Everything works great except for one thing. When an apostrohpy
is typed, ( as in won't, can't, etc) rather than advance a space, the next character
types over the apostrophy. I believe this is because on this machine, this
was originally the 'bell' function.

Does anyone know (1) if this is an easy thing to change (like a stunt box
lock out), and (2) how to do it. Haven't been able to find much useful info
in the manuals I have. 

Not a big deal, and if its a major job I'll live with it. TIA.
