Wow, what a day!

Picked up two TT-483 Kleinschmidt machines first thing this morning and managed to toast the selenium stack rectifier in both of them. Now my wife knows what selenium smells like. She did say the look on Robin's face was priceless. She told him "You're worried now that Steve has broken the machines he won't want them!". I sure fooled him! In the trailer on on the road again.

Second stop at Gary Buda's for the ASR that I out bid Don on. And then it was on to Lincoln.

Did take a side trip to Walnut, IA, so Puddin could browse through the "Antique Capital of Iowa". She really enjoyed that but we didn't add one thing to the trailer. I have to say I was astounded!

The rest of the trip to Lincoln left us wide eyed at the amount of corn growing in all the fields we saw for as far as the eye could see. Another amazing site were the wind farms. Literally hundreds of huge wind turbines generating electricity. A look at the web gave us the info that Iowa is second only to Texas in producing power from the wind.

Got to see the Missouri River just about spilling out of its banks as we crossed into Nebraska at Omaha. And Ron has sent us some amazing pictures of the river out of its bank and nearly 5 miles wide. Parts of I-29 south of Omaha and many local roads are closed. Interesting that I don't remember seeing any of this on the national news.

Arranged a quick meeting with Ron to pick up a CV-57, and a M14 TD for James down in Selma, AL. Oh, and a Northern Radio power supply as well.

First thing in the morning I'll be picking up the two pieces of equipment that started this trip in the first place. The TT-271 & TT-272. These two pieces make up a Kleinschmidt ASR. They are from an eBay auction I bid highest on several months ago.

Well better hit the sack as another long day looms.

73 and safe travels to all,

Steve G./N4SEG
