The two primary windings are designed for about 160 mA
each to support the 2.5 A secondary.

So, if you use only one of the primaries, you're limited to
160 mA on that winding. Then if you pull 60 mA off of the
other primary winding (using it as an output) that leaves
about 100 mA to source the secondary 12 V winding.
That translates to about 970 mA @ 12 V.
