Yeah, I consider contest weekends the time to turn off the radio and do
something else.  Although it's got to where hardly a weekend goes by
without some kind of contest.

Back in the late 1950s I used to enjoy the RTTY contests.  At that time
there were only two per year.  And W5YM was the only RTTY station active
in Arkansas, so everybody wanted to work us.  And there were only a few
thousand RTTY stations at all.

Now I don't find the contests any fun at all, but I won't criticize those
who do.  Just wish there were fewer contests.
