Don,

I was the first bidder.   I don't need or necessarily want the machine and I 
was rather hoping that you were the person who bid it away.   I don't want 
it junked.  And I don't want to make a trip to Chicago, either.

But then, since you haven't found those keycaps for me yet I think I might 
bid it up a couple of hundred bucks at the last minute!  :-)
