I got the following email from my brother, K9ZXO yesterday. If you're
interested, let me know right away; the hamfest at Arthur IL is coming
up soon and if nobody wants the stuff he'll take it there.
73,
Chuck

I have two interesting items. They probably aren't worth hamfesting,
but would be of interest to computer collectors / techno-history
buffs. Anyone in your club that would fit that description?
#1
A new, unused (except me testing it this morning), in the original box
and plastic - probably the first XT-turbo. 8086 processor. 50meg
blazing hard drive, 5.5" floppy and runs Dos 4.0. Has MBasic and a
few odds and ends software.
#2 (most interesting)
Where our S-100 frames went (evolutionarily). This Zenith/Heath has
two different processors on a motherboard that contains an 8 slot
S-100 frame. In the frame is the floppy controller for its dual 5.5"
floppies. When fired up, it asks whether you want to run the Z-DOS
(Zenith's own DOS) or MDOS (Microsoft DOS ver 1.1). Comes with a
bunch of business software - WP, inventory control, etc.
Both are in mint shape.
If no one wants them, I'll probably have them in the back of the car
for Arthur-fest, but will end up at the recycler. If I had the space,
I'd keep 'em for nostalgia.
