Well, yes, EIA is an acronym for an industry group, but I couldn't
find anything about "EIA code". I looked at the history section on
the Wikipedia page for ASCII and couldn't find any mention of EIA.
Perhaps you are thinking of ITA/ITA2? That is mentioned on the
Wikipedia page for baudot code as a precursor to ASCII.
