    Not to beat this to death but I just found an ad from 
McElroy with an illustration of a virtually identical keyer. 
Its in the catalogue section of the 1945 _ARRL Radio 
Amateur's Handbook_. It appears that several variations were 
made with different speed ranges, etc. That particular keyer 
is not shown in the 1946 edition but the ad there indicates 
that the keying head itself was used on a number of models 
and was also avaiable as a stand-alone for use with an 
external tape puller.
    Its possible this company made the keyers under contract 
or perhaps after McElroy sold out.
