THAT IS A GREAT RELAY FOR CONTROLLING TTY MOTORS...  BUT, I FOUND AN ECG OPTO-ISOLATOR RATED AT 400 VOLTS OR SOMETHING AND USE THAT FOR MY INTERFACE FROM MINICOMPUTER TO RTTY LOOP...  HAS GIVEN NO TROUBLE AFTER 25 YEARS...

Hey Larry;

I'd guess because it is a SOLID-STATE relay and is expecting AC not DC.

I can't remember what that "transistor" is called, but it can handle
some serious VAC, but doesn't work with DC.
