I don't know the particulars of this specific modem, but there are
only going to be three kinds of external connections to the modem:
power, telephone and data.  Identifying the power and telephone
connections are easy (power is obvious and telephone connections come
from the acoustic coupler cups where you'd place the phone handset).
The remaining connections are going to be the data connections.

You can assume baud rates <= 300 baud, so once you make a direct
connection I'd try baud rates like 50, 75, 110, 150, and 300.
