Hi Mike -

Go for it if the price is right... I use a Tempest version here, it works
fine - it's a really nice TU. I replaced the power line input filter with a
unit that takes a standard power cord (required a little bit of nibbling and
filing on the chassis), and I either run the interface directly to a
computer or through a RS-232/Current Loop converter for my real machines.
Email if you need a schematic of a converter. There are manuals available
around the net, check W6GER's website.

Subject: [GreenKeys] Dovetron Tempest MPC-1000T II

I found a Dovetron Tempest  MPC-1000T II on ePay, but the description I
found online says the "T" means it is for "secure" operations with power &
optical filters to prevent radiation, and is not for casual or business use.
My question is: can this work for me at home ( I also see it has no
high-level power supply ) or is it too specialised for the average ham
application.

I know sombody out there has already tried this.

Thanks

Mike  N9ODM
