[GreenKeys] Opinions wanted for best HF converter

When I came back to ham radio as my retirement hobby after a nearly 30
year absence I had been warned that some things had changed but it
never occurred to me that RTTY was included in that. When did people
start calling Terminal Units ("TU's") converters? I never know what's
being discussed! I would think that the failure of these people who
think they are using RTTY to send a proper line feed and two carriage
returns would be of great concern! But worse is the fact that when
you try to explain why those functions need to be sent you get a blank
stare. I do wish the people who fail to use a proper
electro-mechanical device for the mode would find another name for it!
And before you think that I'm just another old fool who refuses to
learn how to operate a computer you should know that I have three
software defined radios operating in my shack along with four computers
and there was a time when Microsoft thought enough of my opinions to
make me a beta evaluator when Visual Basic first appeared!
Never forget that if you haven't built a Terminal Unit that would fit
inside a polar relay case you simply haven't paid your dues---maybe
only 50%. The rest comes from rescuing a poor machine that has been
sitting on an unpaved garage floor for a decade, has rusted to a solid
mass and then see the first line of RY's march across the page!
