Well he could listen in on Saturdays at either 1700 or 1800Z to the KSM RTTY transmissions. Those are at 60WPM and 170 cycle shift. Check at Radionmarine.org for freuencies. They also do CW transmissions at 22 wpm or so for hours on end if you want to work on your cw skills. The RTTy sigs are on 8 and 12 MC frequencies and really cover a lot of the country as they run 5KW i think it is. Radiomarine. ORG has a good story with lots of equipment pictures etc.
