Hey Don (et al);

Neat find!

I always thought it was planned that 212 (New York) was one
digit away from 213 (California) so that if you mis-dialed a
number you would be charged the highest possible rate!  :-)

And the exchanges: I remember, back in New York when I was a
kid in the 50's, all the phone numbers started out with a name:

MurryHill 7, Ivanhoe 9, Wells 5, etc.
