[GreenKeys] RTTY signal on 4005

Geoff, I have wondered the same thing. I got out of the
Navy a lifetime ago but during the time that I was in the
Navy I copied that broadcast on a couple of destroyers
using R-390's and WRR receivers feeding URA-8's and 17's
to a (blank blank) and then to a Model 28 running 100 wpm.
Also, during my two years at NSS I had the pleasure of
checking thhat particular FRT-40 on a daily basis and making
sure that it was on freq, the grids were peaked and the plates
were dipped and that it was running 40KW. NSS is no more
so I don't know where the broadcast originates or who is
copying it. I do know that over the last 40 years since I
got out of the Navy, that signal has always marked the top
end of the 75 meter ham band. :>)
