I have PCplus still on this machine and was thinking it might be fun to see if any of the old dialup bbs are still around. HA! Anyway, just a thought. A standalone model capable of 28 or 36 K.

Have to try to remember where those are. The PC has 640K of RAM to play with but no extended nor expanded memory. That came later with the advent of the 386 etc.

Or would the processing be to slow? gotta be some other use for it other than a scrap yard. To nice a unit although it is 20 years old. What changes in data processing!

We were the first US Robotics dealer in Mississippi, and
still have several modems from "back then". Probably the
most unusual modem I have is a US Robotics S-100 modem -
which - is indeed an S-100 bus "card". It is installed in
one of the North Star Horizons here, I think - I'd have to
look to be sure (I have 4 or 5 complete Horizons in various
"configurations" - from a "stock" original three board (4Mhz
Z80 processor, 16K RAM, MDS Floppy controller); to my
Horizon 8/16 that has all 12 slots filled - including
several 6Mhz Z80 "workstation on a card" and a couple 8086
16 bit processor "workstationon a card - with one 512K
expansion memory card). Back to modems - I also have an
original Apple-cat here somewhere - as well as several Hayes
from the 300 baud days.

Yup - been "playing" computer since 1971...
