Yes Jim,

The tape for the test board machines was 3/8 inch wide.
I think I have some 3/8 inch here but it might be 1/2 inch I have to  
look.

As indicated from Larry's experiments tape as thin as 1/4" will work  
although a little sloppy.

However on the 2B only the 5/16 (or less) will fit through the machine.

(I've read that some W.U. employee received a generous suggestion
award for suggesting they shave 1/16" of the width of the paper tape.)
