Thanks, I'd forgotten about the buffer idea. I had in mind a continuos  
data stream at speed where there are no pauses to let a buffer "unload".

I am pretty sure that at least some of the Dovetron T/U's have speed  
conversion as part of what they can do, though I don't remember  
buffers being mentioned.

It may be that 60 WPM gears for the Model 28 are hard to find (as is  
the gear shifter), so I may want to up-convert if I'm to use some of  
the ones I have.  I don't know what gears they have in them.
