This was clipped from Wikipedia re Terminal Emulators:

"Under Microsoft Windows, programs that provide the remote-access form of terminal emulation include the built-in programs HyperTerminal (not included in Windows Vista) and Microsoft's telnet client, as well as third-party programs such as PuTTY. Other examples include Access*One, AlphaCom, Attachmate Reflection, BlueZone, HostAccess, DynaComm, Indigo, GTW420 Pro, Poderosa, PowerTerm InterConnect, SecureCRT, SwitchTermJ, Terminator, TigerTerm, TN3270 Plus, TinyTERM, Tera Term and z/Scope Express VT."

Bottom line: The Windows terminal emulator is called HyperTerminal and it doesn't reside in Vista.
