Hi Mike,

As a kid with a novice tckt, I had a mentor who was incharge of ABC network 
engineering.  He's a silent key now but wow, what I leaned.

He'd take a Collins 75A4, or any "sacred" equipment, and tear into it.  When 
he was done, it would sorta look like a 75A4 receiver but the entire IF 
strip was gone/modified.  Front end all changed out.

It was from him that I learned to do what I thought was what I wanted in a 
piece of equipment...not what the manufacturer/engineers designed. He was a 
fine E.E. and I leaned a lot from him...especially, I want it to work the 
way I want it to work   LOL
