Pretty interesting product coming out...doesn't mention if there's a loop
supply and TU built in! !
When only ham radio is on the air, the new AM/FM/Ham band receiver can hear
it.
The C. Crane CCRadio-2 can't transmit like a licensed ham radio unit. But it
can receive anything in ham radio's 2-meter band, and there could well be
emergency information there that could save somebody's life. If a hurricane
took out all the local AM and FM stations, this thing would let you tune in
to the transmissions used by first-responders and the local authorities.
California-based C. Crane Company says it's the first commercial AM/FM radio
thatprovides ham-band monitoring capability. Another nifty thing about the
new $159.95 radio is its twin-coil ferrite AM antenna, which could pull in
distant signals that might also be very utilitarian during a local wipeout.
More about the CCRadio-2 at the C. Crane site.
