Normally "normalling" is crossconnected from the top jack to the bottom jack. Plug into the top and you get the source...plug into the bottom and you get the equipment the top was sending to. Sometimes, the bottom was just a 600 ohm termination for an unused source such as multiple outputs from a DA. lar
