[GreenKeys] jackfields

A few years back I purchased from someone on this list (sorry I forgot who) a jack field. It was home made and pretty nicely done. Lots of time an patience went into lacing up the myriad of wires. Some jacks were labeled for RTTY loop, some for audio, etc., etc., I kept the RTTY loop jacks in place because they were already wired for keeping the loop intact when no plugs were inserted. So this, I thought, would make my life easier than wiring things up from scratch. But then I realized why my machines werent working, because I was using TRS on the machine plug.

I think in the end, I will have to change my plugs since there are fewer of them then jacks in the field. But I was curious to know for 60ma neutral loops, what (if anything) could be considered "norm"

Thanks all!
Eugene

Eugene,

I just finished, tonite, wiring 3 machines into a Navy jackfield. It uses tip and ring for contacts. The sleeve floats.

Hi. I've been wiring up a jackfield and was wondering. Would typical tty devices using ¼" plugs use TS or TRS plugs? I happen to have TRS on my 2 machines, but I just wired up the jackfield using TS (shorting) jacks! So right now I have to fix something.

	Thanks

PS if this message gets through, Gil I sent you two emails this morning. Just wondering if you got them. thanks
