AN/SGC-1 was the Navy standard shipboard AFSK ("tone") TU used on UHF links
1950's-70's. Surplus units were often modified by hams for 850 cps shift.
The CV-2460/SGC replaced the AN/SGC-1A.
I've posted some info at http://www.virhistory.com/navy/rtty-tu.htm
If anyone needs a schematic, just let me know.
cheers,

Anyone ever play with one of these? Looks like a neat item. Reading a
description of it here:

Whats with 500 and 700 Hz tones? 200Hz shift? Where/when was that used?
Sure is a good looking item!
