Well, I've proven that the BlackBox CL-50 really does NOT like
driving a selector magnet. No enough compliance in the active
mode to do more than wriggle the selector, and not enough
voltage rating to not seize up with an external loop at 120 VDC.

I ordered a bunch of Clare octal based mercury wetted contact
relays on eBay. So first off is to see if I can get the CL-50 to
drive them cleanly. Then to see if the contacts will handle the
loops current / voltage.

I'll report back later whether or not it works or if I done some
rather spectacular failure mode in the shop. ;-)
